Can satan, demons, and Angels Still Show Mercy and Have Feelings like Joy, Sadness, and Fear?
by Bodie Hodge, Answers in Genesis
July 26, 2011
In our secularized culture, there is a lot of mythology surrounding Satan, angels, demons, and so on. This is nothing new when it comes to movies, books, and TV. Even popular television series like Supernatural, portray these characters in an unbiblical light, and sadly, this is the place that many people get their theology.

Christian Band ApologetiX Needs Your Prayers
J. Jackson, lead singer and lyricist for ApologetiX here.
I apologize for bothering you again, but we have some big problems on our hands:
1. We already had to cancel last weekend's concerts, because a routine alternator fix in our bus caused unexpected problems.
2. We just had to cancel this weekend's concerts, because of continued problems with the alternator.
3. This morning I learned that unrelated problems at next weekend's venues will force us to cancel both of those concerts.
We've been doing this for almost 20 years, and we've only ever had to cancel a handful of concerts. Now we could miss three straight weeks.
Loss of concert income, not to mention the repairs, is killing us. We don't make a lot of money, and this band supports seven families with 18 kids. Many of you face much greater hardships than we do, and I'm not asking you to help, just to please pray for us.
These are all circumstances beyond our control, but they are all in God's control, and we believe He will see us through this.
If any of you do have the means and desire to help financially, please go to: http://www.apologetix.com/store/store-donate.php
If you prefer to mail a check or money order, please make it out to "ApologetiX" and send it to:

Sexual infections reach a record high in the UK
Scottish sexual infections treble in just ten years
‘Safer sex’ message gets through, but doesn’t work
Teen pregnancy strategy falling desperately short
Binge drinking is fuelling abortions and promiscuity
Free morning-after pills fail to cut teen pregnancies
*********************************************************************
It's apparent from these articles that there is a serious problem going on. "As John Deighan, parliamentary officer for the Roman Catholic Church in Scotland said: 'The more we find out about the prevalence of sexually transmitted infections the more worrying the picture that emerges...The distorted ideas of sexual liberation which have been popular for a few decades have a terrible toll on the lives of many people. The release of the latest figures should make policymakers re-evaluate their approach to sexual health issues.'" I couldn't agree with him more.

Sin - What is sin? What are the different kinds of sin? Is there hope?
What is sin? According to Got Questions, "sin is described in the Bible as transgression of the law of God (1 John 3:4) and rebellion against God (Deuteronomy 9:7; Joshua 1:18)." In other words, sin is when we do something wrong, which is against God. All human beings are born with a sinful nature, ever since the first human beings Adam and Eve who sinned, so it is natural for us to sin. According to the Jack Van Impe Prophecy Bible, "Sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2). All sin results in judgment - the pay off is death and eventually, the Great White Throne Judgment (Romans 1:24-32; 6:23; 1 Corinthians 6:9,10; Galatians 5:19-21). Revelations 21:8 and 22:15 provide a comprehensive picture of those who are damned for all eternity. They are:
the fearful - those who do not accept Christ to escape being ridiculed (Matthew 10:32).
unbelievers - those who do not believe in and receive the Lord Jesus Christ (John 8:24)
the abominable - those who engage in wicked practices (Titus 1:16)
murderers - those who kill others or hate (1 John 3:15)
whoremongers - those who engage in fornication or consort with prostitues (Ephesians 5:5-8)
sorcerers - those who practice witchcraft, demonism, and follow after the occult. sorcery comes from the Greek word pharmakeia, meaning "enchantment with drugs." thus, drug users and even pushers are included in the guilty verdict for judgment.
idolaters - those who worship or reverance anyone or anything other than the living and true God.
liars - (John 8:44)
dogs - false professors (2 Peter 2:21,22)
homosexuals - (Romans 1:18-32)
the unrighteous - those who trust in self, works, a false religious system, or mere "religion" for salvation (Titus 3:5)
fornicators - those who engage in premarital and extramarital sex (1 Corinthians 6:9, 14-18)
the wicked - those who disregard all morality and moral standards
the covetous - those who desire all things for themselves, especially that which belongs to others (Ephesians 5:5-8)
the malicious - those who willfully seek to destroy the person and property of others (James 1:26)
the envious - those resentful of others
debaters - those who would rather argue with God than accept His truth
deceivers - those who purposely mislead or betray others (2 Timothy 3:13)
maligners - those who speak evil of, defame, or slander others (James 3:2-3).
whisperers - those who gossip
backbiters - those who constantly find fault with others and speak maliciously about them
haters of God.
despisers - those filled with contempt toward God and man
the proud - those possessing an excessively high opinion of themselves
boasters - those who exalt self
inventors of evil things
the disobedient to parents
those without understanding (resulting from unconcern or rejection of the truth)
covenant breakers - those who do not keep their word
those whose affections are contrary to the laws of God and nature
the implacable - those exhibiting extreme stubbornness to the point of refusing to yield to the convicting power of the Holy Spirit (Proverbs 1:24-28; Acts 7:51,52)
the unmerciful - those who lack compassion (Ephesians 4:32)
adulterers - those who practice extramarital sex (1 Corinthians 6:9,10)
the effeminate - generally younger persons in the process of becoming homosexuals or sodomites
abusers of themselves with mankind - hardened homosexuals (Genesis 19:5)
thieves - (1 Corinthians 6:10)
drunkards - those given to and overcome by alcohol (Proverbs 20:1, 23:20,21; Luke 21:34, Romans 13:13, 1 Corinthians 6:10; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:18)
revilers - those who use abusive or contemptuous language
extortioners - those who exact money from or take advantage of others through violence, threats or misuse of authority.
Persons who have practiced these sins, then, and who are still contaminated by the guilt of them, because they have not come to Christ, will be the ones judged before the Great White Throne.
Is there hope? And such were some of you....but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God (1 Corinthians 6:11; 1 John 1:7; John 3:17).
There is not a sin that can keep a true believer out of heaven. God's Word clearly states that some Christians will be saved 'so as by fire.' They lose everything except their salvation. Because of it, they will be "ashamed" in Christ's presence (1 John 2:28). If believers were left behind at the Rapture because of some sin in their lives, who would the "ashamed" be at that investigative session? Rewards are lost because of disobedience and disobedience is sin (Romans 5:19; James 4:17)."
So, for those who are saved because they hold faith in Jesus then they are forgiven of their sins past, present and future. Although the believer may lose out on some heavenly rewards, they will still be saved and be safe with God for all eternity. For those who are not saved because they do not believe in Jesus for their salvation then they will, very tragically, be judged for all of their sins and receive no forgiveness for they had never believed on Jesus for their salvation when they had the opportunity to do so. It will not matter what good they had done in life (Isaiah 64:6; Ephesians 2:8-9) if they had never received forgiveness of their sins. Repent and believe today. Faith is a free gift of God because He loves you and He made it possible. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus) so that whoever believes in Him should not perish (go to hell) but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

"What does the Bible say about racism, prejudice, and discrimination?"
Question: "What does the Bible say about racism, prejudice, and discrimination?"
Answer: The first thing to understand in this discussion is that there is only one race—the human race. Caucasians, Africans, Asians, Indians, Arabs, and Jews are not different races. Rather, they are different ethnicities of the human race. All human beings have the same physical characteristics (with minor variations, of course). More importantly, all human beings are created in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26-27). God loved the world so much that He sent Jesus to lay down His life for us (John 3:16). The “world” obviously includes all ethnic groups.
God does not show partiality or favoritism (Deuteronomy 10:17; Acts 10:34; Romans 2:11; Ephesians 6:9), and neither should we. James 2:4 describes those who discriminate as “judges with evil thoughts.” Instead, we are to love our neighbors as ourselves (James 2:8). In the Old Testament, God divided humanity into two “racial” groups: Jews and Gentiles. God’s intent was for the Jews to be a kingdom of priests, ministering to the Gentile nations. Instead, for the most part, the Jews became proud of their status and despised the Gentiles. Jesus Christ put an end to this, destroying the dividing wall of hostility (Ephesians 2:14). All forms of racism, prejudice, and discrimination are affronts to the work of Christ on the cross.
Jesus commands us to love one another as He loves us (John 13:34). If God is impartial and loves us with impartiality, then we need to love others with that same high standard. Jesus teaches in Matthew 25 that whatever we do to the least of His brothers, we do to Him. If we treat a person with contempt, we are mistreating a person created in God’s image; we are hurting somebody whom God loves and for whom Jesus died.
Racism, in varying forms and to various degrees, has been a plague on humanity for thousands of years. Brothers and sisters of all ethnicities, this should not be. Victims of racism, prejudice, and discrimination need to forgive. Ephesians 4:32 declares, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Racists may not deserve your forgiveness, but we deserved God’s forgiveness far less. Those who practice racism, prejudice, and discrimination need to repent. “Present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God” (Romans 6:13). May Galatians 3:28 be completely realized, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

"Why are all Christians hypocrites? Are all Christians hypocrites?"
Question: "Why are all Christians hypocrites? Are all Christians hypocrites?"
Answer: Perhaps no accusation is more provocative than that of “hypocrite.” Unfortunately, some feel justified in their view that all Christians are hypocrites. The term “hypocrite” enjoys a rich heritage in the English language. The term comes to us via the Latin hypocrisies meaning “play-acting, pretense.” Further back, the word occurs in both classical and New Testament Greek and has the very same idea—to play a part, pretend.
This is the way the Lord Jesus employed the term. For example, when Christ taught the significance of prayer, fasting, and alms-giving for kingdom people, He discouraged us from following the examples of those who are hypocrites (Matthew 6:2, 5, 16). By making long public prayers, employing extreme measures to ensure others noticed their fasts, and parading their gifts to the Temple and the poor, they revealed only an outward attachment to the Lord. While the Pharisees performed well their dramatic role as public examples of religious virtue, they failed miserably in the inner world of the heart where true virtue resides (Matthew 23:13-33; Mark 7:20-23).
Jesus never called His disciples hypocrites. That name was given only to misguided religious zealots. Rather, He called His own “followers,” “babes,” “sheep,” and His “church.” In addition, there is a warning in the New Testament about the sin of hypocrisy (1 Peter 2:1), which Peter calls “insincerity.” Also, two blatant examples of hypocrisy are recorded in the church. In Acts 5:1-10, two disciples are exposed for pretending to be more generous than they were. The consequence was severe. And, of all people, Peter is charged with leading a group of hypocrites in their treatment of Gentile believers (Galatians 2:13).
From the New Testament teaching, then, we may draw at least two conclusions. First, hypocrites do exist among professing Christians. They were present in the beginning, and, according to Jesus’ parable of the tares and wheat, they will certainly exist until the end of the age (Matthew 13:18-30). In addition, if even an apostle may be guilty of hypocrisy, there is no reason to believe “ordinary” Christians will be free from it. We must always be on our guard that we do not fall into the very same temptations (1 Corinthians 10:12).
Of course, not everyone who claims to be a Christian is truly a Christian. Perhaps all or most of the famous hypocrites among Christians were in fact pretenders and deceivers. To this day, prominent Christian leaders have fallen into terrible sins. Financial and sexual scandals sometimes seem to plague the Christian community. However, instead of taking the actions of a few and using them to denigrate the whole community of Christians, we need to ask whether all those who claim to be Christians really are. Numerous biblical passages confirm that those who truly belong to Christ will exhibit the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Jesus’ parable of the seed and the soils in Matthew 13 makes it clear that not all professions of faith in Him are genuine. Sadly, many who profess to belong to Him will be stunned one day to hear Him say to them, “I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!” (Matthew 7:23).
Second, while it should not surprise us that people who pretend to be more holy than they are claim to be Christians, we cannot conclude that the church is made up almost entirely of hypocrites. One surely may concede that all of us who name the name of Jesus Christ remain sinners even after our sin is forgiven. That is, even though we are saved from sins’ eternal penalty (Romans 5:1; 6:23), we are yet to be saved and delivered from the presence of sin in our lives (1 John 1:8-9), including the sin of hypocrisy. Through our living faith in the Lord Jesus, we continually overcome sin’s power until we are finally delivered (1 John 5:4-5).
All Christians fail to perfectly live up to the standard the Bible teaches. No Christian has ever been perfectly Christ-like. However, there are many Christians who are genuinely seeking to live the Christian life and are relying more and more on the Holy Spirit to convict, change, and empower them. There have been multitudes of Christians who have lived their lives free from scandal. No Christian is perfect, but making a mistake and failing to reach perfection in this life is not the same thing as being a hypocrite.

Lyrics:
There's a joy I can't explain,
fire burning in my frame.
Wanna skip around the block
Scream and shout and never stop.
Better than a fairytale,
Got me floating like a sail.
I know it's all because of you.
You're the one I'm looking to.
*When my day feels like
nothing turns out right. It's you.
So you.
No matter what may come
I know you will bring me through.
Yeah!
**Last Friday night
I was sulking in dark.
Didn't know just where to start
tried to pray but I forgot.
Last Friday night.
blowing steam about the stress
even though you knew what's best.
Waiting for my manifest.
Last Friday night.
Got me thinking bout your love
How your grace is good enough
Even when I make it tough.
Last Friday night.
I repented for it all.
Realized I dropped the ball-ball. Oo whoa
So this Friday night.
I'm holding on to you.
This Friday night
I'm holding on to you.
It's amazing how you see
all my flaws, insecurities.
Yet you still believe in me.
You know what I can come to be
There is nothing that compares
to this alien affair.
Your love is supernatural.
I got the greatest of them all.

How do you feel about Jesus?
I was taking a survey about local hospitals and how I feel about one in particular, and it listed several responses to choose from. It suddenly hit me that these same responses could be used to think about how you see your relationship in Jesus, basically how you personally feel about Jesus. There are a range of answers, some negative and some positive and some without any response. So, if asked what kind of relationship do you have with Jesus, how would you feel?
Enslavement - Feeling you have no choice but to use them
Aversion/Hostility - A desire to avoid them
Casual Buddy - Sharing a fondness for them but without long-term commitment to them
Courtship - A period in a relationship where wooing takes place
Best Friend - The strongest possible kind of friendship
Acquaintance - Knowing of them but not close to them
Love-Hate - A personal relationship involving simultaneous or alternating emotions of love and hostility
Dependency - A feeling that they are irreplaceable
Kinship/Affinity - Having an inherent liking or connection with them
Childhood Friend - A relationship formed years ago that is looked upon with nostalgia
Committed Partnership - A long-term voluntary union that is reciprocal in nature
Marriage of Convenience - A marriage contracted for reasons other than relationship, family, or love
None of the above

"What does the Bible say about homosexuality? Is homosexuality a sin?"
Question: "What does the Bible say about homosexuality? Is homosexuality a sin?"
Answer: The Bible consistently tells us that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9). Romans 1:26-27 teaches specifically that homosexuality is a result of denying and disobeying God. When people continue in sin and unbelief, God “gives them over” to even more wicked and depraved sin in order to show them the futility and hopelessness of life apart from God. 1 Corinthians 6:9 proclaims that homosexual “offenders” will not inherit the kingdom of God.
God does not create a person with homosexual desires. The Bible tells us that people become homosexuals because of sin (Romans 1:24-27) and ultimately because of their own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as some people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person’s choosing to sin by giving in to sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger/rage, does that make it right for him to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true with homosexuality.
However, the Bible does not describe homosexuality as a “greater” sin than any other. All sin is offensive to God. Homosexuality is just one of the many things listed in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 that will keep a person from the kingdom of God. According to the Bible, God’s forgiveness is just as available to a homosexual as it is to an adulterer, idol worshipper, murderer, thief, etc. God also promises the strength for victory over sin, including homosexuality, to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Philippians 4:13).

"How can I know God's will for my life? What does the Bible say about knowing God's will?"
Question: "How can I know God's will for my life? What does the Bible say about knowing God's will?"
Answer: There are two keys to knowing God's will for a given situation: 1) Make sure what you are asking for or considering doing is not something the Bible forbids. 2) Make sure what you are asking for or considering doing will glorify God and help you grow spiritually. If these two things are true and God still is not giving you what you are asking, then it is likely not God’s will for you to have what you are asking for. Or, perhaps you just need to wait a while longer for it. Knowing God’s will is sometimes difficult. People want God to tell them specifically what to do—where to work, where to live, whom to marry, etc. God rarely gives people information that direct and specific. God allows us to make choices regarding those things.
Romans 12:2 tells us, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.” The only decision God does not want us to make is the decision to sin or resist His will. God wants us to make choices that are in agreement with His will. So, how do you know what God’s will is for you? If you are walking closely with the Lord and truly desiring His will for your life, God will place His desires on your heart. The key is wanting God’s will, not your own. “Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4). If the Bible does not speak against it and it can genuinely benefit you spiritually, then the Bible gives you the “permission” to make decisions and to follow your heart. If you truly seek God’s will with a humble spirit and an open mind, He will reveal His will to you.

"How can I know if the desires of my heart are from God?"
Question: "How can I know if the desires of my heart are from God?"
Answer: Jesus answers this question for us: “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander” (Matthew 15:19). And then: “What comes out of a man is what makes him ‘unclean.’ For from within, out of men’s hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and make a man ‘unclean’” (Mark 7:20-23).
In these passages, Jesus reveals the very springboard of our wants: our fleshly desires come from our innermost being. Sin does not just come about as a result of outside forces. It is borne from those hidden little niches residing in our thoughts and intentions, from the secret desires which only the mind and heart can envision. The bottom line is that, in our fallen state, the desires of our hearts do not come from God. Jeremiah further confirms the nature of man’s heart: “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)
It has long been the view of many that all humans are basically good and decent and that it is the circumstances of life such as poverty or poor nurturing that turn us into murderers and thieves. But the Bible teaches that all men suffer from a common frailty—sin. The apostle Paul calls it our sin nature. “I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it” (Romans 7:18-20). Our evil hearts lead us to sin.
Furthermore, the heart is so corrupt and deceitful that our motives are unclear even to ourselves. As sinful creatures we devise and create evil things in the arrogance and self-sufficiency of our hearts (Proverbs 16:30; Psalm 35:20; Micah 2:1; Romans 1:30). The truth is that only God can examine our deepest motives and inward desires and only by His power can we ever hope to untangle the uncertainty and depravity that is bound up within our hearts. He alone searches all and knows us intimately (Hebrews 4:11-13).
Fortunately, God does not abandon us in our struggles with hurtful desires and sinful tendencies. Instead, He provides us the grace and strength we need to resist and overcome sin when it crouches at the door of our hearts. The psalmist tells us to: “Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him and He will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun” (Psalm 37:4-6).
Here we see that God can literally plant His own desires into the heart of man, the heart that, without Him, is desperately wicked and deceitful. He replaces the evil with good and sets our hearts on the path toward Him, removing our own desires and replacing them with His. This only happens when we come to Him in repentance and accept the gift of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. At that point, He removes our hearts of stone and replaces them with hearts of flesh (Ezekiel 11:19). He accomplishes this by the supernatural implanting of His Spirit into our hearts. Then our desires become His desires, our wills seek to do His will, and our rebellion turns to joyous obedience.

"Masturbation - is it a sin according to the Bible?"
Question: "Masturbation - is it a sin according to the Bible?"
Answer: The Bible never explicitly mentions masturbation or states whether or not masturbation is a sin. The Scripture most frequently pointed to in regards to masturbation is the story of Onan in Genesis 38:9-10. Some interpret this passage as saying that “spilling your seed” on the ground is a sin. However, that is not precisely what the passage is saying. God condemned Onan not for “spilling his seed” but because Onan refused to fulfill his duty to provide an heir for his brother. The passage is not about masturbation, but rather about fulfilling a family duty. A second passage sometimes used as evidence for masturbation’s being a sin is Matthew 5:27-30. Jesus speaks against having lustful thoughts and then says, “If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away.” While there are parallels between this passage and masturbation, it is unlikely that masturbation was what Jesus was alluding to.
While the Bible nowhere explicitly states that masturbation is a sin, there is no question as to whether the actions that lead to masturbation are sinful. Masturbation is nearly always the result of lustful thoughts, sexual stimulation, and/or pornographic images. It is these problems that need to be dealt with. If the sins of lust, immoral thoughts, and pornography are forsaken and overcome, masturbation will become a non-issue. Many people struggle with guilty feelings concerning masturbation, when in reality, the things that led to the act are far more worthy of repentance.
There are some biblical principles that can be applied to the issue of masturbation. Ephesians 5:3 declares, “Among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity.” It is hard to see how masturbating can pass that particular test. The Bible teaches us, “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). If you cannot give God glory for something, you should not do it. If a person is not fully convinced that an activity is pleasing to God, then it is a sin: “Everything that does not come from faith is sin” (Romans 14:23). Further, we need to remember that our bodies have been redeemed and belong to God. “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). This great truth should have a real bearing on what we do with our bodies. In light of these principles, the conclusion that masturbation is a sin is biblical. Clearly, masturbation is not glorifying to God; it does not avoid the appearance of immorality, nor does it pass the test of God’s having ownership over our bodies.

"How can I overcome an addiction to internet porn? Can addiction to pornography be defeated?"
Question: "How can I overcome an addiction to internet porn? Can addiction to pornography be defeated?"
Answer: Studies show that terms relating to porn are by far the most commonly searched-for terms in the internet search engines. Every day, literally millions of people do searches related to the porn industry. The powerful imagery of internet pornography is highly addictive. Many men (and women) have been caught in the snare of internet porn and find themselves helplessly addicted to its visual stimulation. This results in uncontrollable lust, an inability to experience true sexual intimacy in marriage, and often intense feelings of guilt and despair. Pornography is the #1 cause of masturbation, sexual assault, and sexual deviancy. Most importantly, pornography is offensive to God, and is therefore a sin that must be confessed, repented of, and overcome.
There are two primary aspects in the battle to overcome an addiction to internet porn: spiritual and practical. Spiritually, addiction to pornography is a sin that God desires you to overcome and therefore will enable you to do so. The first step is to make sure you have genuinely placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior. If you are unsure, please visit our page on salvation and forgiveness. Without salvation through Jesus Christ, there is no possibility of a true and lasting victory over pornography: “Apart from me, you can do nothing” (John 15:5).
If you are a believer in Christ and are struggling with an addiction to internet porn, there is hope and help for you! The power of the Holy Spirit is available to you (Ephesians 3:16). The cleansing of God’s forgiveness is available to you (1 John 1:9). The renewing capacity of God’s Word is at your disposal (Romans 12:1-2). Commit your mind and eyes to the Lord (1 John 2:16). Ask God to strengthen you and help you to overcome pornography (Philippians 4:13). Ask God to protect you from further exposure to porn (1 Corinthians 10:13), and to fill your mind with things that are pleasing to Him (Philippians 4:8). These are all requests that God will honor and answer.
Practically speaking, there are numerous tools to combat an addiction to internet pornography. There is a great program available at www.PureOnline.com. There are several quality internet filtering programs that will completely block your computer from accessing pornography, such as www.BSafeOnline.com. Another fantastic tool is available at www.X3Watch.com. X3watch is accountability software. It tracks your internet browsing and sends a report of any objectionable websites you have visited to an accountability partner of your choosing. Your temptation to view internet porn would be greatly reduced if you knew your youth pastor, parent, friend, pastor, or spouse would receive a detailed report about it. There are also quite a few good books on overcoming porn addiction: Every Man's Battle: Winning the War on Sexual Purity One Victory at a Time by Stephen Arterburn, Pure Freedom: Breaking the Addiction to Pornography by Mike Cleveland, and The Game Plan by Joe Dallas.
Do not despair! An addiction to internet porn is not an “unforgivable sin.” God can and will forgive you. An addiction to internet porn is not an “unconquerable sin.” God can and will enable you to overcome it. Commit your mind and eyes to the Lord. Commit yourself to filling your mind with God’s Word (Psalm 119:11). Seek His help daily in prayer; ask Him to fill your mind with His truth and block unwanted thoughts and desires. Take the practical steps listed above to keep yourself accountable and block access to internet porn. “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20).

The Way of the Master - Christianity (True & False Conversions)
What is Christianity? Why is it that so many people seem to fall away from the Christian faith? Why is it that so many Christians don't seem to be or live their lives any different than non-Christians? The difference between true and false conversions. The truth is that many "backslide" and become worldly, forgetting their "first love" (Jesus). For others it's the simple fact that they were never really saved in the first place.
