I Don't Want Your Religion

It's sad when I hear or read people talking about how much they hate religion and they seem to lump Christianity or faith in Christ as being part of that religious heap when it really isn't. Religion is about trying to work your way into Heaven hoping that you will somehow earn your ticket; whereas faith in Christ is just that - faith. What He (Jesus) did for us, in dying for our sins so that we can receive forgiveness, is not religious in that regard at all. It's the opposite of religion in that it's not about earning your way to Heaven, but about receiving the "gift of pardon" that Jesus "purchased" for us with His own blood. I was just thinking of how sad (in an honest, caring way not a sarcastic snarky way) it is to know that so many people out there in the world don't seem to understand.
