"The Action Bible: New Testament" by David C. Cook

http://oasisaudio.com/product.php?prod=9781613751664

Some heroes changed the world... for eternity

The heroes and stories of the Bible come to life in this New Testament edition of The Action Bible. Through dramatic reading and realistic sound effects, the events of Scripture explode in a powerful, exciting new way. Familiar characters turn into champions of faith, and often-heard tales become exciting stories of God's power. And the New Testament's big picture unfolds as each story is told in the order it happened, from the birth of Jesus to His resurrection and return.

The storytelling makes the Bible's message clear while capturing all the drama, impact, and truth of Scripture. Careful attention to biblical accuracy keeps things trustworthy. Just for today's kids—and adults with a child's heart of wonder—it's the greatest story ever, brought to life in a whole new light.

This book can also be purchased by itself through different stores. Just search for the title. Here is Amazon.com link: http://www.amazon.com/Action-Bible-New-Testament-Redemptive/dp/0781406080

Houston teen dead at party that attempted to copy pathetic 'project x' movie

Was it really worth it? No. And to think that some people actually think that this crap is cool? Wake up and guess again. Reality has hit the fan. I feel really sorry for that kid and his family/friends who cared for him. I hope something good can come from this tragedy.
via ApologetiX Fan Club Newsletter, March 15, 2012

J. Jackson, lead singer and lyricist for ApologetiX here.

The Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was a popular Indian guru who developed the concept of Transcendental Meditation, gaining worldwide fame through his association with the Beatles, although they didn't stay his disciples for long.

One rock star who remained devoted was Mike Love, lead singer for the Beach Boys, whom many people regard as the antithesis of cosmic consciousness. I recently read this quote from Love in the Beach Boys bio "Heroes and Villains":

"And one of the greatest things that interested me was that (the Maharishi) said, 'You don't have to give up your Rolls-Royce ... and forsake all your pursuits of material pleasures ... to develop inner spiritual qualities.' That sounded real good to me."

I'm sure that sounds real good to a lot of people. I just can't help thinking of something another spiritual leader said to another rich young man: "One thing you lack. Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." (Mark 10:21).

Sure, I still have possessions. But as I look back to when I came to Christ, it happened as I was in the midst of giving away my most prized possessions -- my records and cassettes. I felt like they had taken the place of God in my life. The more I gave away or sold, the freer I felt.

Ironically, the first record I ever bought was the Beach Boys' Endless Summer. The first cassette? The Beach Boys' Spirit of America. The Beach Boys also had their first number-one hit the week I was born and their last number-one hit the year I was born again.

2 Corinthians 11:14-15
And no wonder, for satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

The Search for Alien Life

by A.P. Galling
September 2, 2009

Outer space is filled with signs of intelligent life—everything from exploratory probes to space capsules. But despite predictions of up to 38,000 intelligent civilizations in the Milky Way galaxy alone—and there are over 100 billion other galaxies—every sign of life originates from earth. Why do we even bother seeking out alien life?

Answers in Genesis London Olympics Outreach 2012

via Answers in Genesis,
http://www.answersingenesis.org/worldwide/olympics-2012

You Can Witness at the Olympics—Don’t Miss the Trip of a Lifetime!

From its earliest days, Answers in Genesis has been about seeing people’s lives changed by the gospel. This desire for evangelism is precisely the reason AiG will take an outreach team to the London Games. Dr. David Crandall (above right) will be leading the outreach as his sixth Olympic ministry. Ken Ham (above left) will travel to London and speak at evening sessions to those participating in the outreach.

The Olympics provide a wonderful opportunity to fulfill the scriptural mandate to take the gospel to the whole world. Answers in Genesis once again will be attending these Olympic Games to evangelize and distribute gospel literature. We are praying for 150 people to participate in this missionary adventure of a lifetime. We hope AiG supporters in England and in the USA will join together in an effort to reach the world for Christ. The Lord has greatly used this outreach in previous years; for example, over 250 people made professions of faith at the games in Athens, Greece.

Each day we will leave the Belsey Bridge Resort and travel by commercial coaches to various locations near the Olympic venues, break up into groups, and pray for Divine Appointments with people from around the world who need the Lord. We will also have the opportunity to join the Ken Ham seminars that will be held in or near our resort location. What a great opportunity to minister to people during the day and to be ministered to in the evening.

Please prayerfully consider this great adventure with AiG and whether God would have you be a short-term missionary to people from across the world for 10 days. We are interested in family groups, youth groups, senior groups, church groups, and everyone who wants to be used of God in this exciting missionary outreach.

Location: London, England
Date: August 2–12, 2012
Cost: $2699

God is So Cool!

via ApologetiX Fan Club Newsletter, March 1, 2012

J. Jackson, lead singer and lyricist for ApologetiX here.

The first concert ApologetiX ever played was at a hair salon converted into a Christian coffee house, so it's fitting that the following occurred as we approach that concert's 20th anniversary:

I went to a salon Monday, and the stylist asked what I did for a living. After I told her, she asked the name of the band. When I said "ApologetiX," she acted like she'd heard of us, but I figured either our name sounded vaguely familiar or she was just being polite.

Then she said, "I never knew you guys were from Pittsburgh," and proceeded to tell me she'd had been part of an Assemblies of God drama team that had acted out our parodies in national competitions over the years.

It turns out she'd grown up listening to ApologetiX and still sings our lyrics when songs we've spoofed come on the radio. When her fiance complains that she isn't singing the right words, she says, "No, those are MY words!"

Ironically, right after she said she knew who we were, the radio station on the salon's sound system played five or six consecutive songs that we'd spoofed! It hadn't played any before that!

Later, as she was finishing up, she asked, "When you came here today, you didn't know you'd meet somebody whose life you touched, did you?" She couldn't wait to tell her friends, and I felt the same way. God is so cool!

"Stand by Me" by Neta Jackson - Chapter One

Sometimes the person you most need is the one least like you.

Kathryn Davies is a bright young woman from a prominent Phoenix family. But after making a leap of faith at a Christian music fest, dropping out of med school, and moving to inner city Chicago, her family all but disowns her.

When Kat discovers SouledOut Community Church, she longs to become a part of the multicultural church family. But her tendency to say whatever she's thinking steps on the toes of nearly everyone she meets—especially Avis Douglass.

Avis has a strong faith, is the principal of one of Chicago's highest performing elementary schools, and is a founding member of SouledOut. But the country's economic downturn has thrown both her and her husband's jobs in question. And Avis hasn't heard from her youngest daughter in months—an estrangement that gnaws at her every day. Where is God in this?

Kat's flamboyant zeal for living a "radical" Christian life is a stark contrast to Avis's more reserved faith. But in God's timing, the two women discover they need each other in ways neither of them expected.
